Looking for Tutors to join the team in a space where students come for support with tutoring, mentoring and mindfulness.  Ideally suite to those with a degree in English and experience educating students about literature, writing, comprehension and analysis skills.

Offering part-time or full-time hours, $40 per hour to start and extended health benefits.

About the Role, Benefits & Perks:

The Perfect Candidate: 

  • Teaching and/or Tutoring experience in the subject of English either primary or secondary school students is required.
  • Degree in English is required.
  • Local experience teaching in BC and familiar with BC Curriculum an asset. 
  • Special Education, Orton Gillingham or specific teachable subject is an asset.
  • High School Diploma, Teaching certificate or degree or equivalent requirement. Other specific education related training will be considered.
  • Create effective lesson plans, teach students a variety of different subjects, and encourage good study habits.
  • Patient, flexible, positive, consistent, dependable and cooperative with a sense of humor.
  • Must have access to vehicle as school is located outside public transit region.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Work with students to advance them in their learning according to their education plan.
  • Provide ongoing communication to company on each student’s progress.
  • Provide ongoing communication to parent on their student’s progress.
  • Must communicate availability on a regular basis.
  • Must be available for after school hours and/or weekend availability.
