A year round opportunity with one of Whistler’s hotels. This  Maintenance Manager role is responsible for overseeing the upkeep and repair of the hotel’s physical facilities, equipment, and systems to ensure efficient operation and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

The Perfect Candidate: 

  • Previous hotel maintenance experience, trade qualification preferred.
  • Previous experience as a leader, supervising and directing work of others.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and work within financial constraints.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, bending, and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Oversee routine and preventative maintenance tasks across the hotel
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule to minimize downtime and unexpected repair
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide guidance and training to maintenance staff.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, fire safety regulations, and health standards
  • Prepare and manage the maintenance department budget and monitor expenses to achieve cost-efficiency.
  • Develop a maintenance order tracking system and provide regular reporting to management and owners.
  • Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts
  • Develop and implement long-term solutions to mitigate recurring maintenance issues, including upgrades, redesigns, or changes in operational procedures.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and services.
  • Communicate effectively with the management team about maintenance plans and updates.
